Post Falls sits on the Spokane River in Kootenai County, between Coeur d’Alene and the Washington state line. Falls Park overlooks the river’s dramatic falls and a historic dam, Q’emiln Park offers a beach, trails and rock climbing in the river gorge, and Treaty Rock Historic Site marks the spot where the town’s founder, Frederick Post, made an agreement with the Coeur d’Alene people. The North Idaho Centennial Trail runs through town, and Lake Coeur d’Alene is just to the east.
North Idaho’s climate is wetter and snowier than the south, with cold winters, frequent freeze–thaw cycles and plenty of de-icers on the roads. Garages see snowmelt, gravel and salts, and basements in older homes may have moisture issues. Summers are warm with low humidity. Coatings need proper grinding, moisture testing and a flexible, chemical-resistant topcoat, with broadcast flake for traction.
Post Falls residents spend a lot of time on the water and in the mountains, and garages are packed with boats, skis and gear. A coated floor makes it easier to clean up after a trip and protects the concrete from winter damage.
The city’s growth has brought new warehouses and distribution centers near the interstate, which need floors that handle forklifts and heavy loads.
