Epoxy Floor & Concrete Coating Contractors in Glen Ellyn, Illinois

Glen Ellyn is a DuPage County village in Chicago’s western suburbs, prized for its historic downtown, tree-lined streets and older homes. Lake Ellyn Park, with its small lake and boathouse, is a local favorite, and Stacy’s Tavern Museum preserves an 1840s inn from the village’s earliest days. The Illinois Prairie Path runs through town for walkers and cyclists, and the College of DuPage campus sits on the village’s southern edge.
Older Basements and Chicago-Area Winters
Many Glen Ellyn homes date back decades, some to the late 1800s and early 1900s, and their basements and garages show their age. Chicago-area winters bring repeated freeze–thaw cycles, snow and heavy road salt, which soaks into unsealed garage floors and causes scaling. Basements in older homes often take on moisture during spring thaws and heavy rains. Grinding away old paint, repairing cracks and testing for moisture are key steps before installing epoxy or polyaspartic coatings.
Projects Glen Ellyn homeowners and businesses commonly take on:

Basements in historic and mid-century homes, turned into family rooms or storage
Detached and attached garages that collect winter salt
Restaurants and shops in the downtown business district
Front porches and steps that need protective sealers before winter

Older homes can present challenges like uneven floors and multiple layers of old coatings, so ask contractors how they plan to prepare your surface. For basements, ask about vapor-blocking primers and slip-resistant finishes. The installers on this page serve Glen Ellyn and the rest of DuPage County; compare their work and request a few quotes.
