Epoxy Floor & Concrete Coating Contractors in Scarborough, Maine

Scarborough is a coastal town in Cumberland County just south of Portland, known for Scarborough Marsh, the largest salt marsh in Maine, and for its stretch of sandy beaches at Pine Point, Higgins Beach and Ferry Beach. Prouts Neck, where painter Winslow Homer kept his studio, sits on the rocky shore. Inland, the town blends new subdivisions, farmland and a busy commercial area near the Maine Mall border with South Portland.Maine Winters on the CoastFew places put concrete through more than southern Maine. Winters bring long stretches of snow, ice and freeze–thaw cycles, and road crews lean on salt and chemical de-icers that end up on garage floors. Homes near the marsh and beaches add salt air and damp, foggy days to the mix. Bare concrete in these conditions often spalls and scales within a few winters. A ground-and-coated floor with a polyaspartic or epoxy system, finished with a textured topcoat, resists chlorides and gives better traction when snowmelt puddles on the slab.Scarborough projects often focus on:Attached garages that take a beating from salty slush all winterBasements in older capes and farmhouses that need moisture controlMudrooms and entryways where sand and boots come throughSeasonal cottages and beach homes needing durable, easy-clean floorsBecause cure times and installation windows matter in cold weather, ask installers about their temperature requirements and scheduling.
