Epoxy Floor & Concrete Coating Contractors in Kearney, Nebraska

Kearney is a college town on the Platte River in central Nebraska, home to the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument spans the interstate east of town and tells the story of westward travel, and Fort Kearny State Historical Park preserves a frontier army post. Each spring, Kearney becomes a destination for crane watchers as sandhill cranes gather along the river, with Rowe Sanctuary nearby offering viewing blinds. The Museum of Nebraska Art and the city’s historic downtown add culture.

Kearney’s housing includes historic homes, mid-century neighborhoods and newer subdivisions, nearly all with basements. Student housing and rentals are common near campus.

Platte River Conditions

Out on the central plains, Kearney’s concrete faces strong winter winds, blowing snow and icy streets treated with salt and de-icers. That combination pits and scales garage floors that aren’t sealed. In summer, intense sun and hailstorms wear on patios and driveways. Because the city sits close to the Platte, groundwater can keep basement slabs damp, so moisture testing is an important first step. A contractor should grind, patch and test before installing a salt-resistant coating that cleans up easily after a snowstorm.
