Prescott Valley is a growing town in central Arizona’s Yavapai County, just east of Prescott. Glassford Hill, an extinct volcano, rises over the town and offers a popular hiking trail with valley views, and Fain Park’s lake and trails are a local favorite. The Findlay Toyota Center hosts concerts and events, and the surrounding grasslands, ranches and mountains give the area a wide-open, high-country character.
At roughly 5,000 feet, Prescott Valley sees cold winter nights, occasional snow and frequent freeze–thaw cycles, along with warm, sunny summers and monsoon storms. High-altitude UV is intense, and de-icers and cinders end up on garage floors in winter. Soils on the valley floor can include clay, and slabs can move and crack.
Most homes here are relatively new, built on slabs with attached garages, and many lots have room for RVs, trailers and workshops.
Because the area sees both strong sun and winter freezes, polyaspartic topcoats are popular: they resist UV without yellowing and seal out water that would otherwise freeze inside the concrete. Ask contractors about crack repair and traction options.
