Epoxy Floor & Concrete Coating Contractors in Sun City, Arizona

Sun City is an unincorporated retirement community in the northwest Valley, northwest of Phoenix. Opened by developer Del Webb in 1960, it became the model for active-adult communities across the country, with neighborhoods built in circles around golf courses, recreation centers, pools and lakes. The Sun Bowl amphitheater hosts concerts, and residents get around by golf cart on many local streets.

Sun City’s desert climate brings long, extremely hot summers, intense UV and monsoon storms with dust and sudden rain. Sunbaked slabs heat up fast, and ordinary epoxy yellows and chalks outdoors. Many homes here date to the 1960s through the 1980s, and their concrete often shows decades of wear: cracks, stains, old paint and uneven surfaces. Soils in the area include caliche and expansive clays.

Sun City Coating Projects

Low maintenance and safety are top priorities for many residents, so slip-resistant, easy-to-clean floors are popular.

• Garages and golf cart garages finished with flake polyaspartic
• Patios, carports and walkways with slip-resistant, cool-to-the-touch coatings
• Older garages with peeling paint or stained concrete that need grinding and resurfacing
• Clubhouse and recreation center floors that need durable, safe surfaces

Older concrete needs proper preparation before coating. Grinding away old paint, repairing cracks and leveling uneven spots gives a new coating something solid to bond to. A textured topcoat adds traction, which is an important safety feature for walkways and garages.
