Epoxy Floor & Concrete Coating Contractors in Derby, Kansas

Derby is a growing city just south of Wichita, along the Arkansas River in Sedgwick County. It is known for its parks, including High Park and the Madison Avenue Central Park, and Rock River Rapids aquatic park is a summer favorite. McConnell Air Force Base sits just to the north, and many military families call Derby home. The city’s quiet neighborhoods, schools and shopping make it popular with families looking for a suburban setting close to Wichita.

Much of Derby’s housing is single-family homes built from the 1960s onward, many with basements and attached garages. Newer subdivisions continue to spread on the city’s edges.

South-Central Kansas Conditions

Derby gets the full range of Kansas weather. Summer afternoons are hot, windy and bright, spring brings hail and tornado watches, and winter can deliver ice storms that coat everything in glaze. Salt and sand from treated streets end up on garage floors every time a car pulls in, and the brine soaks into bare concrete until freezing nights pop the surface apart. Shifting clay under many neighborhoods adds cracks to the mix. Grinding, crack repair and a moisture check before coating, followed by a sealed, salt-resistant system, keep these floors in shape.

Derby Projects

• Attached garages in neighborhoods throughout the city
• Basements converted to living space, gyms or storage
• Storm shelters and safe rooms
• Patios and pool decks with slip-resistant, UV-stable coatings

Military families who move frequently often coat their garages to protect the concrete and add appeal when it’s time to sell. The contractor listed on this page serves Derby and the Wichita metro. Reach out today to set up an estimate.
