Epoxy Floor & Concrete Coating Contractors in Burton, Michigan

Burton borders Flint on the southeast and is one of Genesee County’s larger cities. Its standout green space is the For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum, with miles of trails through woods, meadows and wetlands along Kearsley Creek. The city is mostly residential, with neighborhoods built over several decades, plus commercial corridors and industrial sites tied to the Flint area’s auto history.

Mid-Century Slabs Meet Michigan Winters

A good share of Burton’s homes were built in the 1950s through the 1970s, often with basements and attached or detached garages. Those older slabs may be cracked, uneven or damp, and they usually need repair and moisture testing before a coating is applied. Winter adds its own damage: snowmelt and road salt seep into garage floors, then expand when they refreeze, leaving rough, flaking surfaces and white salt stains. Heavy clay soil common in the county also holds water against foundations.

• Garages that take on salt and slush all winter
• Basements turned into family rooms or storage
• Auto repair shops and small industrial buildings
• Patios and front steps that need a non-slip surface

Homeowners here often use the garage as a workshop, so a chemical-resistant floor that stands up to oil, coolant and dropped tools is a practical upgrade. A flake system with a polyaspartic topcoat also hides minor imperfections and cleans with a mop.
