Thompson’s Station is a small town in southern Williamson County, between Franklin and Spring Hill. It takes its name from an old railroad stop, and the Battle of Thompson’s Station in 1863 is remembered at historic sites including Homestead Manor. Rolling hills, horse farms and newer master-planned communities share the landscape, and the town has worked to keep its rural character as the Nashville suburbs grow toward it.
Middle Tennessee’s climate brings hot, humid summers, mild winters with occasional ice, and severe spring storms. Humidity drives moisture up through slabs, and the clay-over-limestone ground can move enough to crack concrete. Sloped lots send runoff toward garages and foundations during heavy rain, and summer sun breaks down coatings that are not UV-stable.
The town’s blend of newer homes and country properties means a mix of polished garages and working barn floors.
For barn floors, ask about textured or rubberized systems that hold up to hooves and regular washing. For garages, a properly prepared, UV-stable flake system gives a clean look that lasts.
